Pete Aho told me that after a day of haying the truck would stop at the dam and they would dive into the water at the bridge. This is not recommended now since it is not deep enough. The dam filled with silt after the flood control dam was built in the 1960s. Bank Village is probably the most popular spot to cool off. I used to take my son to the beach in the late 1970s.
