My Backyard
We moved to New Ipswich in 1975. I was aware that there was a an unused road that ran by my property, but didn't give it much thought until today, 43 years later.
I believe it appears on a map from 1895 as a dotted road, which seems to indicate, that even then it was not very important.
However I was pleasantly surprised to find a lovely trail with hardwoods, hemlocks, vernal pools, and mountain laurel. I intend to visit the trail during the year to make up for those lost 43 years. The greatest thrill is knowing that this is my backyard.
