Putnam Group

In 2016 I photographed a number of glass negatives in the collection of the New Ipswich Historical Society. I used Photoshop to invert the negatives into usable images. It was a thrill to see a  view of New Ipswich from over 100 years ago.

Most of the photos featured buildings, roads and landscapes. These were used for many of the postcards that came from New Ipswich in the early 1900s. My favorite photos feature people.

The glass negatives were stored in protective paper sleeves which in some cases had notes from the photographer, including weather conditions, aperture and shutter speed. This one was titled the Putnam Group.

If you know anything about these people , please leave a comment at the bottom.
